silent night, wholly night

Now this is a different kind of Christmas picture, yet equally noble and serene as traditional takes. No, probably more so.

P.S. I replied to your gracious email. I'm not nagging for a response, just wanted to make sure I didn't get thrown in the Bulk/Spam folder lest you think I'm a cad. (Can a woman be a cad?)

The very title of the picture makes one look at it twice, trying to find signs of Christmas Eve. That is what naming a picture can do. Or taking it a certain day and make that clear.
Discovering that Christmas Eve is everywhere and nowhere.

Downtown Arts District, looking north on Santa Fe, from the 4th St Bridge. SCI-Arc on the left. MTA yard on the right. Jail straight ahead, past the 1st St Bridge.

Great picture for Christmas Eve! It's empty and silent.
I hope you get some time to check out my site. You should consider submitting your photographs there to be voted on!

lovely. your photos as always make L.A. beautiful. thanks for the congratulations. it's an exciting time but one not so conducive for photo-taking (though throwing Africa into the mix of subject matter is an exciting prospect).
